What is the New Vehicle Payment?

The New Vehicle Payment is a one-time payment of £750 for cars and Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs) under the Motability Scheme. This payment helps offset the rising cost of new vehicles due to global shortages.

Eligibility

You are eligible for the New Vehicle Payment if you ordered your first vehicle on or before 3 January 2025.
If you ordered your first vehicle from 4 January 2025 onwards, you will not receive this payment.
If you are already on the Scheme and haven’t received the payment yet, it will be provided with your next vehicle.
The payment is issued only once, not each time you get a new vehicle.
You cannot receive both the New Vehicle Payment and the New Product Payment.

Terms and Conditions

To qualify for the Motability Scheme, you must be in receipt of the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance, the Enhanced Rate of Mobility Component of the Personal Independence Payment (PIP), War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement or the Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP). Applications must be received and accepted by Motability Operations from 1st January to 31st March 2025. Offers may be withdrawn at any time and are subject to availability. Not available in conjunction with any other offer ^The New Vehicle Payment can only be used once and is available to eligible customers only. Customers who have an existing lease are eligible for this payment when they order their next car, if they haven’t received it before. New customers are eligible if they order their first car on the Scheme in 2024.
