We are seeking a WordPress & WooCommerce Assistant with SEO and analytics experience to join our team. You will assist in managing, maintaining, and optimising, multiple high-traffic ecommerce websites while ensuring customer journeys are fully tracked and performance is continuously improved. This role is ideal for someone who excels at solving technical challenges, improving systems, and driving digital growth.

Working hours will be Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, with an unpaid lunch break of 1 hour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with, managing, and maintaining multiple high-traffic WordPress & WooCommerce websites, ensuring peak performance, stability, and scalability.
  • Being directly involved in all web development activities, from planning and architecture to deployment, testing, and optimisation.
  • Ensure projects meet quality standards, deadlines, and expectations, delivering reliable and polished results.
  • To identify, troubleshoot, and resolve website issues quickly and effectively.
  • Train and onboard assist new team members on WordPress, WooCommerce, and internal workflows.
  • Assist in the management of the technical aspects of the WordPress CMS, focusing on performance, security, and long-term maintainability.
  • Implement and maintain SEO best practices, including on-page optimisation, site structure improvements, technical SEO, and performance enhancements.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of customer journeys using Google Analytics (GA4) and other tracking tools, ensuring all funnels, events, and conversions are captured correctly.
  • Monitor, analyse, and report on website performance, using data to recommend improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to company processes and maintain clear, accurate documentation.
  • Stay informed about the latest WordPress, WooCommerce, SEO, and analytics trends to drive innovation across our platforms.

Required and Desirable Skills or Experience

  • Knowledge of WordPress and WooCommerce (or a similar ecommerce site), including configuration, optimisation, and day-to-day management.
  • Experience working with high-traffic websites, including performance tuning and scalability management.
  • SEO knowledge, including technical SEO, Core Web Vitals, on-page optimisation, and structured data, would be advantageous.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Analytics (preferably GA4), Tag Manager, and tracking customer journeys across multiple touchpoints.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex issues and deliver effective solutions.
  • Previous hands-on experience with WooCommerce (or similar), including setup, extensions, troubleshooting, and optimisation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Experience with PHP development, including creating or modifying custom plugins.
  • Knowledge of APIs, automation, or custom integrations.
  • Familiarity with server environments, caching strategies, and performance optimisation tools.
