The Kia Sportage has been awarded a 4.5 stars by AutoExpress.

AutoExpress has rated the Kia Sportage 5/5 in their latest review. Due to the 'Great on-board technology, space and comfortability' the Kia Sportage is a first-rate SUV.

The Kia Sportage was rated highly on the following;

  • Engine, performance and drive
  • MPG, CO2 and running costs
  • Interior design and technology
  • Practicality, boot space and comfort
  • Reliability and safety

Comfort and refinement are the Kia Sportage's key strengths. It's soft suspension set-up means this family SUV is able to deal effectivley with bumps in the road and reduce any unpleasant jolts intruding into the cabin. With mild-hybrid petrol, full-hybrid and plug-in hybrid power all on offer, both family buyers and business users should be able to find the right Kia Sportage model to suit their driving needs. The Sportage's exterior is certainly striking, with a dramatic, ultra-modern front end that immediately draws the eye.

The electric parking brake is located to the right of the steering wheel, which has freed up more storage space, while large hooks are integrated into the front headrests for hanging items. The extra cubby space under the boot floor of the petrol version is particularly useful for stowing oddments on longer journeys. Of course, both the hybrid and plug-in hybrid models have reduced underfloor storage because the battery pack takes up some space.

The previous Kia Sportage was awarded a five-star safety score from the Euro NCAP back in 2015, and the fifth-generation model achieved the same top rating when tested in July 2022 - an even more impressive score considering the stringent assessment criteria Euro NCAP now has in place.
