We’re excited to announce not one, but two wins for CUPRA at the prestigious What Car? awards.
Born winner
First up, the CUPRA Born was awarded the coveted title of What Car? Best Small Electric Car – even before its official UK launch. We’re extremely proud of this win for our first all-electric car, which came out top in a very competitive category. Judges were particularly impressed by our new car’s handling, not to mention the high-quality interior and dynamic drive.
Steve Huntingford, Editor at What Car? commented, “Choosing a CUPRA typically means a big focus on driver appeal, and the Born absolutely delivers, because it feels more eager to turn into bends than rivals. Despite this, though, the ride is far from harsh and road noise is kept to a minimum, while the interior is smartly finished and impressively spacious. So, the Born proves that turning your back on petrol doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice fun, but it's also a fantastic all-rounder.”
Formentor sets the pace
Just as exciting, the CUPRA Formentor also took home the prize for What Car? Best Coupé SUV. With a hybrid option balancing extraordinary power and efficiency, it offers the best of both worlds – and now it’s been judged best in its class, too. Pace and handling, combined with a comfortable ride for passengers, were what really set the Formentor apart.
On Formentor’s win, Huntingford added:“Not everyone with sporty sensibilities can avoid journeys that demand four doors, adult-friendly back seats and a big boot. That’s where the combination of style, performance and practicality that coupé SUVs offer comes in – and the CUPRA Formentor is our favourite, because it delivers a better combination of pace and handling than rivals while also treating your passengers to a more comfortable ride.”
