At Fish Brothers, we’ve been helping the people of Swindon with their motoring needs for more than 75 years. As a multi-franchise dealer group, we’re proud of our strong reputation, but it’s our people who make the real difference. We believe in creating a supportive and rewarding workplace where talent can thrive, and where going the extra mile for our customers comes naturally. Many of our team have built long and successful careers with us — and now we’re looking for the next person to join our journey.

Fish Brothers are recruiting for a fully qualified and experienced Workshop Controller to become part of their long established dealership group in Swindon. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled workshop controller to join our dedicated Nissan Service team.

You will have a busy and thriving workshop to manage on a daily basis. This position is responsible for all aspects of workshop daily management, from issuing work to technicians, managing tooling & equipment, liaising with the front of house team, whilst remaining semi productive.

Key responsibilities are:

To have full control for the issuing of work taking account of loading and commitment to customers as agreed by the reception team.

Ensuring Workshop processes meet guidelines on both retail, internal and warranty procedures.

Ensuring all work is issued in the most efficient manner.

Issuing and progressing of Sales Department preparation work.

Providing general information on the progress of work through the workshop highlighting any potential concerns as they arise and taking preventative measures to avoid any impact on Customer Satisfaction.

The ideal candidate must be qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in vehicle mechanics, will have ideally held a supervisory role in a main franchised dealership, or have a strong ambition to manage the growth and development of a workshop through developing relationships with customers and colleagues.

You will have the drive and determination to maintain a productive department, the ability to work under pressure and achieve results through other people. An up to date knowledge of vehicle service repairs and maintenance at level 3 status will be required as a minimum. You will need to have excellent knowledge across all areas of the job and be comfortable carrying out all aspects of the role.

Hours of work are 40 per week, Monday to Friday. Saturday mornings are worked on a rota basis and are payable as overtime. A bonus scheme will also apply to this role.
