Nissan e-POWER

Move to a unique electrified experience, now unplugged.

Nissan e-POWER is a unique electrified technology that delivers a more responsive, quieter & efficient way to experience city driving, free from the need to charge.

e-POWER, a unique combination

A technology unique to Nissan. e-POWER uses a petrol engine to charge a battery and that alone drives an electric motor, powering the wheels. It responds similarly to an electric car, providing instant torque and also has lower tailpipe emissions and running costs compared to a traditional combustion engine, but without the need to plug it in. In addition to the petrol engine, e-POWER also uses regenerative braking to help keep the battery topped up.

Fuelled by petrol, driven by electric

Discover a new driving experience without changing your habits. Keep using fuel but enjoy the driving sensations of electric mobility as soon as you press the accelerator.

Recharges on the go

You don't need to plug in an e-POWER vehicle. The petrol engine produces energy that charges the battery when the vehicle needs it. The petrol engine produces energy that can either be directly supplied to the electric motor or recharge the battery. The electric motor alone drives the vehicle's wheels giving an electric feeling drive at all times.

Recycles energy from braking

The friction caused by braking produces energy, and e-POWER doesn't let it go to waste. The regenerative braking system converts this every and feeds it straight back to the battery, improving the fuel efficiency.

Enjoy a unique and exciting electrified driving experience

In tune with your environment

Instant acceleration helps you seize pockets of space in slow urban traffic, and with the quiet electrified engine, you'll feel calm and in control even on the most challenging driving scenes

Pleasure to drive

With the wheels powered by an electric motor, you'll get the same instant torque and smooth acceleration that electric vehicle owners love. e-Pedal step is ready for you when you're in the mood for a more enjoyable and responsive drive.

Quiet and relaxing

The electric motor runs quietly, and combines with the petrol engine, produces reduced tailpipe emissions than a traditional combustion engine [1], so driving e-POWER is a serene and pleasant experience.

Discover the benefits of owning an e-POWER

No worries about range

e-POWER skips the initial hurdles some have with electric vehicles. Because the battery is kept full by the petrol engine, you can begin long journeys free from range anxiety. Simply refill at an everyday pump and you'll be back on the road.

Fewer refills, lower running costs

With an e-POWER vehicle, you can go much further on a full-tank because the petrol engine is only used to charge the more efficient electric battery. The battery is also partly recharged with energy produced while braking, meaning far fewer trips to the pump and far more savings for the long-term [2]

A more relaxing way to drive

With the flick of a switch, you can activate e-Pedal Step: a single pedal for acceleration and braking. e-Pedal Step removes the need to jump between two pedals in stop-start traffic, or when driving uphill. Pair this with the quiet engine and you'll feel relaxed behind the wheel.
