Motability New Car Payment Increase​​

We are excited to announce that we will be offering a New Vehicle Payment of £750 for our customers who lease a car or Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) through the Motability Scheme. This is an increase from the previous payment of £250, and we hope it will help our customers make the most of their new vehicle.

Customers who have already received the previous payment of £250 will receive an additional £500, bringing their total payment to £750. These payments will begin in March 2023.

Eligibility for the New Vehicle Payment includes customers who are getting or ordering their first vehicle on the Scheme before the end of 2023. Customers who already have a car or WAV on the Scheme will become eligible for the payment when they get their next vehicle. It is important to note that this payment can only be received once.

The payment will be made via bank transfer, and customers can add their bank details in their Motability Scheme online account to receive the payment within a few days of getting their new vehicle. If we do not have the customer's bank details, we will send a cheque instead, which may take a couple of weeks to arrive.

We understand that the ongoing global shortage of new cars has made them more expensive, and we want to help our customers with affordability. Increasing the New Vehicle Payment to £750 is one way we can do this, along with investing in pricing to keep leases and Advance Payments as low as possible.

We want to remind customers that the New Vehicle Payment is only available once, and will not be offered for each new vehicle leased through the Motability Scheme. If a customer chooses to extend their lease, they will still be eligible for the New Vehicle Payment.

We encourage customers who are considering joining the Scheme to take their time and look at all the available options that may suit their needs. As long as they order their first vehicle before the end of 2023, they will still be eligible for this payment, even if they do not receive their vehicle until 2024 or later.

This payment will not affect the Good Condition Bonus, which is a separate payment offered for returning a vehicle in good condition at the end of the lease.
