What is the New Vehicle Payment?

The New Vehicle Payment is a one-time payment of £750 for cars and Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs) under the Motability Scheme. This payment helps offset the rising cost of new vehicles due to global shortages.

Eligibility

You are eligible for the New Vehicle Payment if you ordered your first vehicle on or before 3 January 2025.
If you ordered your first vehicle from 4 January 2025 onwards, you will not receive this payment.
If you are already on the Scheme and haven’t received the payment yet, it will be provided with your next vehicle.
The payment is issued only once, not each time you get a new vehicle.
You cannot receive both the New Vehicle Payment and the New Product Payment.

To qualify you must be in receipt of the Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (DLA), the Enhanced Rate Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP), The War Pensions Mobility Supplement (WPMS) or the Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP) and applications must be made with participating retailers between 06 January and 31 March 2025.
